How do i grow long healthy hair?

My hair used to be half of my back now its not even to my shoulders because when i was little i didn't wash my hair when i went swimming and it just broke off.How do i grow long healthy hair?
Hair isn't alive and it doesn't grow. Hair is an accumulation of a protein called keratin inside the follicle. As it builds up on the bottom it is pushed out the top, creating ';hair growth';. This is a biological process so nothing that you do to your hair, like trimming it or using some ';special'; shampoo can help. Eat a healthy, protein rich diet and take a regular multivitamin daily. Since hair is protein, eating foods rich in protein like peanut butter, eggs, and fish can help to accelerate growth.

Do not take prenatal vitamins, despite what some uneducated people here may say, taking too many vitamins can do serious damage to your organs, cause arthritis, and can even cause death. It isn't ';just extra nutrients,'; it is deadly so don't believe it. I don鈥檛 mean to sound negative, but this is serious and I don't want to see people get hurt for long hair!

So no shampoo (including Mane n鈥?Tail!) conditioner, oil, or product can, in any way, accelerate hair growth. Hair growth is almost entirely genetic, and a little bit diet, so all that you can do it change your diet. Split ends cause breakage on the bottom of your hair, not at the base. Hair is an inanimate strand of protein, nothing that you do to the bottom if it can have any effect on the top of it. So again, trimming your hair has no effect on growth!

Hair does not grow from the ends, it grows from the root! Hair growth is entirely biological and has nothing to do with the hair that you already have, so having healthy hair DOES NOT mean that it will grow faster. If you want healthy hair, avoid heat at all costs and get a salon quality shampoo and conditioner, wash the conditioner out with cold water, but this will not effect growth in any way.How do i grow long healthy hair?
i'm in the same boat with you!

i've been doing a lot of research. i don't really like my natural hair either, and it's been hard, but hair grows much much faster when you apply less heat on it. so i haven't been straightening it.

another thing that helps hair grow is massaging your scalp daily. this increases blood flow to the hair folicle. exercising also helps too.

also, since hair is 98% protein, it's best to eat as much protein as possible. you can find them in eggs, chicken, cottage cheese, etc. i also use a protein shampoo and conditioner. it's called balsom and protein. you can find it at the dollar store or big lots. the smell isn't that great, but i mix it with another soap called Pure Castile soap which you can find at trader joes or target. Pure Castile soap is made of all types of different oil and you can use it to wash literally anything. it's all natural.

i've been taking supplements for hair growth. look for some that contain vitamins A, B, D, and E. Vitamin B is most important, especially B6 and B12, which naturally contains biotin. Biotin helps improve hair, skin, and nails.

anyway, i hope this helps!
I'm trying to grow long healthy hair too.

Growing long healthy hair starts from the roots. you should wash your hair every 2 days, and condition it daily. I also recommend keeping the dead ends cut off every 2 months, so your hair can grow nice and healthy. It takes time, (on average about 6 inches per year) but it it worth it to have beautiful long hair!

:)
To Grow Long Healthy Hair I would advise that you take daily vitamins, use organic shampoo and conditioner, and eat plenty of protein. that will make it grow a little faster.
