If you are willing to wait until new hair and nails grow from the roots, then if you make sure you get all your vitamins including the vitamins for healthy hair and nails, then it will help the new hair and nails grow in healthy and shiny and strong.

Meanwhile, if you have the kind of hair which is easily damaged, find shampoos which strip the chlorine and other chemicals from your hair, and use a good conditioner. That might help while the new hair is growing in, and to keep the new hair from getting damaged. You can ask at a salon, if you like.

To help your nails keep from breaking or bending while the new ones are growing in, you can use ';Hard as Nails'; which is a nail polish made to help keep your nails from getting soft or breaking. I don't think there are colors, but you can use the clear polish as a base coat if you want.. or just have clear polish.

I started using vitamins from the GNC health stores. They have special ones for women, for hair, for nails etc. They are expensive as **** but for the first time I have nails that don't bend or get brittle and break. And I'm kind of old. I imagine they would help a young person a lot more.

Good luck. How can I get Shiny Hair,Healthy nails, glowing skin and healthy hair?
shiny hair can come naturally if you use the right products/shampoo.

blowdrying it helps, and u can try using hair products especially for making it shiny. To make your hair healthy, wash it everyday and get a trim. Im not too sure about nails, but if you dont bite them or pick at them and just try not to pay a lot of attention to them, within 2 weeks you should see a difference.
Calcium.

do you straighten or curl your hair? (w/ heat)

if you do, you should try buying heat protection before you burn in..like a substancee.

%26amp; the purple V05 haha, i forgot what the name is, but the bottle is purple %26amp; i think it has a purle flower on it. that helps damaged hair if you use it daily.

HOPE IT HEPLS!
You are not clear on what damaged is. After swimming it is a must that you at least rinse your hair thoroughly to remove the chlorine. Wet hair is fine. Nails are usually based on your genetic make-up.
Drink water every day, eat your fruits and veggies, dont smoke and take either a GNC Dietary supplement or a biotin pill (available in most drug stores).
Use lime juice for nails and shiny hair.

How do you get healthy hair?

Okay, so technically you can't really have ';healthy hair'; but how can you at least get hair that appears healthy? For example celebrities have that gorgeous hair: glossy, silky, and virtually split-end-free. How can one achieve that kind of hair? I have medium thick, long, slightly wavy, dark brown hair. It's also highlighted honey-blonde and becomes greasy if I don't wash it, so I blow dry and straighten my hair basically everyday because I can't stand it's natural look, [[which I think looks worse than when it's straightened]] and because I simply don't have the time for it to air dry or anything. Can anyone please help me with this problem hair? I'd love to have hair like Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Miley Cyrus, or Rachel Bilson. How do you get healthy hair?
Go easy on the heat tools, it fries your hair. Use a deep conditioning treatment at least once a week on your ends. It will be tough at first, but if you shampoo only every other day it will get better and easier to airdry or style your hair without the heat tools. That made the biggest difference in growing my hair out long and healthy. How do you get healthy hair?
    you wash it
condition it.... and shampoo every other time. also trim your deads and splits every 4-6 weeks
Use head and shoulders it works for me
Stop highlighting, wash regularly, deep condition, eat healthfully, lots of exercise!!! Get it professionally straightened so you can stop blow drying so much! And don't forget to trim regularly.
Heat styling and blow drying can make hair more dry. Use a super absorbent hair towel (ex. Aquis or The Body Shop) to minimize time needed to blow dry.

Use a deep conditioner as needed. Joico K-Pak conditioner is excellent. You can use it every day or as a hair mask. Joico also makes K-Pak shampoo which is good for dry hair.

Use a wide toothed comb after shampooing to remove tangles and start from the bottom working your way up gently. Dry hair can be brittle so treat it gently and do not brush it while it is wet.

Avoid styling products with a high alcohol content (ex. hair spray) and use a heat protection product before blow drying or styling.

Kiehl's Silk Groom or jojoba oil are good. They can add a little texture while conditioning your hair.
Try using a ';treatment'; once a week. Make sure to buy one your hairdresser recommends.
    use mayoneise
    be natural

no blowdries , hair dyes or hair straighteneres

get a trim every 2-3mos at least or less i think
Don't blow dry or iron it...

    Condition, condition, condition.

    That's it :D
celebrity hair appears that wayy..they use straighteners and stuff but you can talkk to your hair salon what shampoo is best for your hair
Ok well first off, they spend lots of money achieving those styles. If you ever see candid photo's they don't really look like that. Second, everyone's hair becomes greasy if they don't wash it. If you want beautiful full perfect hair, I suggest you get up at the crack of dawn every morning and go see a hair stylist.
All I know is my hair looks much better since I've started taking fish oil and flaxseed oil. My skin looks better too, but that's besides the point. Anyway, I take the recommended amount on the bottle and I get complements all the time. You should try it.

Also, I think straightening your hair everyday might be bad for it but that's just a guess.

I need a good healthy hair tip?

I dyed my hair and now im getting it taken out. My hair dresser says she might have to strip it then dye my hair blonde which is my natural color or she'll do like this hair cap thing so I need some good healthy hair ideas because my hair is already not healthy and after that its not gunna get much better. Thank you!I need a good healthy hair tip?
When you eat healthy your hair will be healthier. And if you take vitamins that will help too. I've gotten a perm and i've died my hair before too so my hair wasn't all that healthy. i've noticed that when i ate healthier and take vitamins it got a lot better.

Good luck!I need a good healthy hair tip?
when i dyed my hair and wanted to take it out i use coconut oil or i used baking soda wash thats what my mother does to my hair put hair cream it natural stuff that how i got my hair to be healthy without even perming it i hope i helped =]]

How can I get healthy hair?

My hair is starting to feel dry because it's naturally wavy and I've started straightening it quite often. How can I restore its health? Thanks XHow can I get healthy hair?
Make sure you're using a pre-styling heat protective spray before you use the straighteners.

Limit the use of the straighteners.

Use a protein treatment about once a fortnight to help strengthen hair and prevent breakage and splitting.

Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week to repair the heat damage and soften the hair.

Regular trims to cut the dead ends will keep it healthy.

Don't wash your hair too often and use shampoos and conditioners rich in protein, keratin or amino acids to repair your hair shafts. Use a leave in conditioner or spray on conditioner in between washes to maintain the softness. Also make sure you use some type of UV protection (whether in the conditioner or hair product) to protect against the sun damage.

You can increase the calcium, iron and protein in your diet and take multivitamins to keep hair healthy.

I suggest you limit the use of hair appliances and start on the deep conditioning and protein treatments before your hair is fully damaged. It's easier to reverse the damage now in the early stages rather than later.

Good luck. How can I get healthy hair?
it maybe the strighteners that are harming it and drying it out.they are not good for your hair so try to stop using them .

go to your hairdresser and ask if they can straighten your hair professionally,if you do want it stright, then its done the once and you wont have to keep damaging it every day.

how dry is your hair at the monent(is it falling out or breaking off or extra tangly?how thick is it?)

also use a good conditioner after every wash and maybe a leave in conditioner.
Once you have split ends the only way to get rid of them is a trim.

Once you have healthy hair, when you flat iron it make sure you use a thermal protector, moisturizing shampoo and condition, and leave in conditioner. Use a weekly hair conditioning mask for amazing hair.

Never brush your hair when its wet.

Stop straightening so often..It's fine to leave your hair straightened 2 days...Don't use any Chemicals, and use a heat protector when you straighten your hair...Go in for a Deep Conditioner, and if you wash your hair everyday, Stop...It washes out the natural oils, making your hair dry(and Frizzy.).
massage your hair with oil atleast once in a week.

    eat well and sleep well.

Stress also a cause for hair fall. so, be relax.

What is the healthiest way to get long, strong, and healthy hair? I'm black with short hair.?

Stop being silly, blacks come in every skin tone under the sun.

To grow your hair long you have to keep your hair from breaking off because this will help you retain length. You have to stop doing things that damage your hair, such as using a lot of heat. I don't know if you're natural or relaxed and that matters as far as how you would take care of your hair. Your question is too general to answer because I don't know the condition of your hair, the products you use, or your hair regimine, or type.

http://www.longhaircareforum.com will give you lots of advice and tips. What is the healthiest way to get long, strong, and healthy hair? I'm black with short hair.?
I'm taking a suppliment called Biotin. It's great, you can get it everywhere, like CVS, Target, GNC.

I also take a suppliment at GNC called Ultra Nourish Hair. When I was doing research on it, plenty of women, all types agreed that it worked wonders! I've been taking it for about a month and a half and my hair is stronger, healthier, and deffinantly growing faster than it ever was. People complain that the pills are huge, but they're not that big and are easy to swallow. I take 2 Biotin and Ultra Nourish Hair every morning, and a Biotin before I go to bed. My hair is it's healthiest it probably has ever been. Eating healthy foods, and Vitiman E help as well. What is the healthiest way to get long, strong, and healthy hair? I'm black with short hair.?
I am white but i have two girls that are half black and i understand where you are coming from.start with washing your hair only three times a week.I use a paul mitchell shampoo and conditioner called super skinny, the days you do not shampoo just condition. Also they have a deep conditioning treatment too,use that only once a week. For styling i would suggest a type of grease, called miracle grow.you can buy these cheap at a drug store
You're not black, not your avatar, anyway.

What can i do for Super healthy hair?

I really want my hair to be extremely healthy. As of now I use Mastey (sulfate free shampoo) and tresseme conditioner (smooth and sleek), dont blow dry or straighten my hair, comb it with a wide toothed comb when wet, spray it with leave in conditioner, and take biotin. What else can i do?? Also, is sleeping with wet hair very bad? because often I have to unless i want to stay up very late. and is blowdrying on cool damaging at all??What can i do for Super healthy hair?
dont shampoo it everyday, do it every other day and dont straight it often, blowdrying is acceptable. ALso if you want your hair to look big as in volumnize then get short layers on top soo when you have your hair down it makes you hair looks heathyWhat can i do for Super healthy hair?
Use a sulfate free shampoo. they are hard to find in the grocery stores. wet head is controversial, so try and dry it best you can. Indian women use henna and other means on hair (neutral henna is non staining)

Vive....becuz Ive tried the others and didnt like them. Dove and Pantene both have alot of wax in them and weigh the hair down, making them feel gummy like you didnt get it rinsed out.

Im very, very picky about my hair and Vive is actually what Im using right now. The healthier and softer your hair, the faster itll grow. Also, the hair/nail vitamens and prenatal vitamens work great for making your hair grow faster.Which one of this shampoos is th best for healthy hair?

i use it alot it makes it shinnyer healthyer
none are good....all cheap and bad for hair
    well i use Garnier Fructis (Fortifying) and you can get it for your hair type (normal to oily) too. my hair is color-treated so it works pretty good for me anyways :o}
The sad thing is hair is everyones hair is different and we spend way to much money trying to find the ';right one.'; So go to the store and in the travel section try a few that way you don't spend all your money and have half used shampoo bottles in your shower. So good luck!!!!!
i m a hair expert in my city.so i prefer for u garnier fructis.but remember conditioners help u more to remove oil from ur hair than shampoos.so u should use conditioners like garnier ultra doux or revlon flex.are u indian?u sound like
Dove. Dove is a shampoo that gently washes away oils and dirt. I am currently using up a Dove shampoo and conditioner.

    I never tried Vivi pro.

All pantene shampoo I HEARD (pwease don't hurt me!!) has this wax thingy in them, so when you wash your hair, you have this layer of wax, aka, more shine. But I used it before and it works fine ;).

    08o08o08o08o08o08o08o08o08o08o08o08o

But I recommend Infusium, Garnier, and v50.
stick with pantene. it is the best for your hair because it goes deeply into your roots and nurtures them. A little advise: don't wash your hair everyday it is not healthy for oily hair, you just make you hair cuticles more oil and don't use conditioner and if you do very very little. It just adds to greasy hair and makes them unsightly,.

What is a good regimen for african american natural hair care to grow hair and have healthy hair.. Incld oils.?

Incld daily hair care and night care and washing and drying .. etc.. everything.. type of combs brushes.. scarves.. night caps.. shampoo conditions.. everything .What is a good regimen for african american natural hair care to grow hair and have healthy hair.. Incld oils.?
hair care: I do not relax my hair because it result in damage. I flat iron at most twice a month with a sedu revolution and redken heatglide heat protectant. I take biotin and msm sulfur to help with growth.

night care: I wear a satin bonnet to sleep at night and use a silk/satin pillowcase. I usually put my hair in big braids at night so its wavy and detangled in the morning.

washing: I wash my hair with non sulfate shampoo's or i cowash my hair. I also precleanse with diluted apple cider vinegar. to prevent breakage or tangles i was my hair in twists. heres a good video tutorial on washing and conditioning.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrsBfmxh6鈥?/a>

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Du_5CFYk鈥?/a>

drying: I pat my hair dry with a tshirt. I airdry my hair. Rubbing your hair with a regular towel can cause breakage.

combs: I usually finger comb my hair first before proceeding with a wide tooth comb. i only detangle when my hair has conditioner(I use garnier fructis triple nutrition) in it. I start from the ends and work my way up.

brushes: I dont brush my hair because can cause uneeded tension or breakage

shampoo: I recommend a sulfate free shampoo unless you use products with silicones. Here are some sulfate free shampoo companies:

    Burt's Bees

    Carol's Daughter

    Aubrey Organics: http://www.aubreyorganics.com/

    Blended Beauty: http://www.blendedbeauty.com

    Kinky Curly: http://www.kinkycurly.com

    Trader Joe's Refresh Shampoo

    Avalon Organics: http://www.avalonorganics.com/

    Oyin Handmade: http://www.oyinhandmade.com

    Qhemet Biologics: http://www.qhemetbiologics.com

condition: for cowashing i use a cheap silicone free conditioner such as v05 kiwi and lime or suave naturals(only the naturals are silicone free). For deepconditioning i use giovanni smooth as silk conditioner(sold at most drugstores but you can get a big bottle at marshalls or tj maxx for value). everything .

Moisture is really important. I usually spritz my hair with water mixed a little olive oil. Then I seal in the moisture with whipped shea butter, coconut oil or oyin whipped pudding.

Eating healthy, drinking lots of water, exercising and wearing protective styles such as buns, braids, or twists are a great to retain length and promote healthy hair. What is a good regimen for african american natural hair care to grow hair and have healthy hair.. Incld oils.?
Everyone's hair is different, so you really have to start experimenting with different products; everyone has to do that at some point. Someone might have the same size coils or curls as you but might have a completely different hair texture, and that'll affect the type of products you use. My hair has different sized coils, but I have some soft coils an wiry coils and they don't always respond to the same products, or the same amount of product. Your coil size and texture also effects how you handle your hair as far as detangling. My soft coils are easier to detangle and comb through and doesn't knott, and doesn't easily tangle. My wiry coils easily tangle and knot. So, texture really plays a difference in how you handle your hair and what products you use.

I use the Denman D3 to detangle and it also defines my curls and reduces my detangling time. I can get all the small and large curls with that one brush. It does create a lot of shrinkage, though. I use Wen hair care and this helps keep my hair healthy and it retains moisture because of it. It also makes my hair super soft, defines my coils and significantly reduces frizz. I also use some Carol's Daughter products for moisture, deep conditioning, and I have a shampoo that I use when I'm not using Wen. I use shae butter, too, for moisture. I use coconut oil and sometimes olive oil to seal, and I use olive oil for hot oil treatments and that has made my hair stronger. I use Nexxus Emergency for my protein treatment.

This is just what I use for my hair, and what my hair responds to. You have to listen to what your hair needs. If anything, I suggest you use sulfate-free shampoos because they won't dry out your as much as regular shampoos.

[EDIT] Oh, my advice for growing your hair is to leave it alone. Don't comb, brush, or style it too much or you can break it. I cut my hair to less than 1/2 inch and a year and 2 months later my hair was shoulder-length and that's because I literally did not have any breakage my first year. Even now, I have very little breakage because I'm very gentle with my hair when I do detangle it and my hairstyles are simple and don't require any combing or brushing (I just wear it loose in a headband, but it's still short enough that it doesn't tangle). I do add oil at night to keep it from completely drying out and then I rinse it in the morning. But, if you want longer hair then you can't manipulate your hair too much or you'll have breakage. Just make sure you keep your hair clean, conditioned, and moisturized, and give it the protein it needs to stay strong. Good luck.

[EDIT] Another thing is to stop flat ironing, or reduce it to a bear minimum. Heat can severely damage your hair. I've seen girls who have to cut several inches of hair to get rid of the damage, and other experience severe breakage. I don't use heat in any form and just wear it short and curly/coily.
If you really think about it your hair really grows its just that we african american people have hair that is more prone to popping when we comb it and breaking. So the real question is what products make your hair soft and smooth so when we do comb and style it wont pop. I use a lot of olive oil products to keep my hair from falling out and at all times you should make sure that your hair is moisturized, because once your hair is dry then your hair will break and become shorter. If you do want to stimulate growth i suggest you go to a health store and buy some biotin pills because biotin is the vitamin that makes up the hair, and vitamin e pills as well.
Check out my hair regimen and products I use...they are working for me. I've just started using castor oil to keep my scalp clean, check it out:

Get a special shampoo and conditioner(go to a hair place for advice on which one would work best for you), get a good brand brush because some make you get splits, eat lots of protein because thats what hair is, and pick it when its wet(DON'T brush it!). Yeaa and if you go swimming in chlorine, wet your hair IMMEDIATLY when you get out of the pool.Better yet just take a shower. Alrighty and apart from those things, just trim it a half an inch every eight weeks and you should have long pretty hair in a few years because hair only grows six inches a year
use almond oil when u come out of the shower or baby oil and it comes out nice and long =)

  • How to get my healthy hair back?

My entire life I always had long, shiny, straight hair. But then 8 months ago I highlighted my hair like three times in two months and also was very sick at the same time. Ever since then my hair has been so rough and unmanageable. I have vitamins everyday and do conditioning treatment once a week but nothing seems to work.

What can I do??How to get my healthy hair back?
Okay I had the same problem...first stop highlighting ur hair and put lemon juice in it insed (it lightens even the darkest hair) now continue the vitamins. try letting ur hair dry by itself meaning no hairdryers/ straighteners. I use TREsemmie sleek and shiny shampoo/conditioner. also try products w/ frizz control in them found at any local store. Good LuckHow to get my healthy hair back?
You should defenitly get a trim for starters. thats really important.

you should also try to use heat on your hair no more then once a week. and when you do, use a heat protectant.

you should also deep condtion atleast once a week. (use a shower cap and sit under the dryer).

also never brush your hair when its wet, this causes split ends and breakage.

Heat protectant : tresemme heat tamer !
First you need to cut your hair. Keeping the dead and split ends won't help. At least once a week do deep conditioning treatments and don't use heat products (they will damage your hair cuticle and make things worse for you). Just be patient, keep repeating the deep conditioning and no heat and you should be good.

It really depends on what you're looking for for your hair. In overall Health I'd say some John Frieda product, but I mix my shampoo and conditioner with others that are guarunteed for shine, strength, mosture and color keep.
pantene pro v or garniea fruticice
It depends a lot on your hair type, if you dye your hair, if you have dandraff, head lice, the like, or if you particapate in sports. I would suggest that you go to a good hairstylest or go to your regular stylest and tell them the details about your hair, like if you dye it or something. They do give out great advice, because they are the experts.
maybe you should get a monthly trim on your hair go the the saloon for hot oil if your on a budget try switching for a better conditioner

What vitamin combination should I use for healthy hair and hair growth?

I am taking Nourish vitamins by Healthy Hair Plus (http://www.healthyhairplus.com).

These are taken twice a day and contain 40 mg Niacin, 400 mg folic acid, 6mg vitamin B-12, 600 mcg Botin, 92 mg Panthonenic acid, 30 mg chlorophyll, 100 mg iodine, 20 mg zinc oxide, 10 mg manganese gluconate, 30 mg PABA, and 4 mg of each of the essential amino acids.

I have been advised to take Biotin, which I bought in a bottle with 1,000 mcg in each vitamin capsule, and it says to take one per day.

I have also been advised to take a Vitamin-B Complex vitamin daily.

Someone said that prenatal vitamins are great for hair growth.

I take a multivitamin daily as well.

I have some vitamins from hairtopia (http://www.hairboutique.com), too, but I have replaced them with the vitamins from healthy hair plus.

I fear that I might be taking too many vitamins and I would like to know what would be the most beneficial combination for healthy hair!!!!!!What vitamin combination should I use for healthy hair and hair growth?
Good nutrition is vital to healthy hair growth, just as it's essential to overall good health. Although your body needs a variety of vitamins and minerals to maintain proper body functions, there are several that are specific to hair growth and health.

When starting a new vitamin regime, it usually takes from 2 to 3 months to see results in your hair's condition. That means that patience and consistency is very important. It's also important to check with your doctor before starting a vitamin program, especially if you have health concerns.

What's the best diet for having healthy Hair and skin and getting rid of fats?

here is what my dietician recommends - follow a practical diet. Make sure your plate has this ratio - 50% veg, 25% carb, 25% protein. eat 900 gms of veggies a day. Start your meal with a big salad or soup. have a snack every three hours. fruit (ideally berries) or soy nuts. just 2 tablespoons of soya nuts subside hunger pangs . substitute white bread and rice with brown. lose one kilo a week. that is the ideal.

Pick an exercise regime you like. then you are likely to stick to it. buy a pedometer, and take 10,000 steps a day.

for skin and hair have a lot of green leafy veggies, flaxseed oil (with 6 times the yougurt). What's the best diet for having healthy Hair and skin and getting rid of fats?
Having healthy hair and skin involves making sure you're eating a healthy diet and getting all of your vitamins and minerals...

With this in mind, there are fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E and K) and water soluble vitamins (all the others). So, if you completely exclude fats from your diet, you'll become deficient in the fat-soluble vitamins (which contain so-called ';anti-oxidants'; that help prevent early wrinkles).

But just to be brief, make sure you're getting all of your vitamins, minerals, eating healthily and getting some exercise.

Exercise will obviously help with losing some fat - one of the best ways to do this is strength training because this burns a ton of calories when done properly. Doing some cardio work like jogging, riding your bike or simply being more active can help. Exercising alone will boost your metabolism, making calorie-burning easier and easier.

The bottom line with losing fat (and not muscle) is to take in fewer calories than you burn. But beware, never overdo this!

If you don't take in enough calories, you'll start digesting your own muscle tissues so that the amino acids they're made of can be metabolized for energy (they follow the same pathway as sugar when you eat a piece of candy or drink a soda).

One thing you can do to help yourself reduce the number of calories you eat is to simply drink more water! This fills your stomach forcing you to eat less. More importantly, it keeps you hydrated! As a general rule - if you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated! This is the mindset I have - try to drink water before you start feeling thirsty.

Here's some great info on the antioxidants I mentioned above...

And here's a place you can find a lot of info on starting a strength training program and creating your own diet...

What are some of the best remedies to get soft, shiny, strong and healthy hair?

Any and all advise would be very helpful....whether they be products or home-made treatments or food...or anything else you can think of that'll be good for hair. Thank you guys! What are some of the best remedies to get soft, shiny, strong and healthy hair?
don't wash it everyday. your head needs its natural oils. What are some of the best remedies to get soft, shiny, strong and healthy hair?
btw... Herbal Essences dries out my hair completely. Makes it look like crap. Spend a little bit more money on quality shampoos and conditioners, preferably from a hair salon, and not the store. Once a week condition with a palm size amount of mayonaisse. Sounds wierd, but it will really add the sleekness and shine that you are looking for. Only wash your hair every other day, and brush your hair before you wash it. This will distribute the natural oils in you hair to keep it healthy and not dry out. Good luck. =)

lay off the hairdryer and curling/straightening irons. go easy on the styling products. anything with alcohol is bad bad bad for your hair.
I agree, don't wash your hair too much, it strips hair from its natural oils which it needs to be strong and healthy, otherwise it becomes brittle. I use Vo5 Hot Oil Treatments once a month to give my ends some extra moisturization.

Use a cream shampoo every other time you wash, it gives your hair the extra oomph it needs every once in a while. Also, whenever you shampoo and condition, only condition the bottoms, and perhaps leave the conditioner in while washing the rest of your body. Every 2 minutes longer its in it helps.

    hope this helps!!
mayonaise works good, makes your hair healthy.
try shampoos, i find herbal essences works wonders..

certain foods you eat as well can do wonders
Eat a diet of good quality protein.

Rinse hair with vinegar if you have red hair, lemon juice of you have Blondie hair. There is also a product at www.yourvitamins.com that sells Healthy Hair Skin and Nails all natural supplement. It does work but pricey. The protein diet is the best!
    don't straighten it....or curl it
good shampoo, not necessarily the dearest ones though. they can be crap.
buy a really good deep conditioner, then before you go to bed shampoo put in the conditioner wrap your hair up in a bun and put in a tight shower cap, leave it in all night (put a towel on your pillow) and then rinse in the morning! works great! if you don't want to buy a whole jar lots of places have packets of deep conditioners too- that way you can try different ones to see what you like the best! do this once a week

I use Natural Hair Oils like Coconut Oil and/or Tree Oil. Also try to stay out of the sun light as much as possible it breaks out your hair. One last one is prenatal pills, I used to take them and my hair is now long, healthy and strong and it comes with a plus. The pills gives you long and strong nails!
Use good quality shampoo and conditioner and mayonnaise.
hair, nails and skin vitamins, hot oil treatment every week, deep condition every other day, wash your hair every other day...you can also try putting olive oil in your hair overnight

also always use a heat protectant spray if you use alot of heat appliances on your hair
.egg and beer. im not kidding you. you can get egg and beer shampoo from shcwarzkopf.
Rinsing in cool water helps and when you can let it hair dry is ALWAYS better.

I have heard olive oil is good for your hair(a little will go along ways)

and the egg @ beer trick has been around for years and people swear by it!

what i do to keep my hair soft and silky and shiny is to use shampoo as normal, and then use your favorite conditioner, rinse, and then apply it again but in a smaller amount. then, rinse with cold water. trust me, it works! i can't stop touching my hair now. haha. good luck! (:Any tips to get shiny healthy hair?
If your not allergic to nuts then you should eat a hand full of all natural Almonds every morning with breakfast. They have a lot of proteins and they can make your hair softer and shinier hair.

Next, you should wash your hair every morning before you start your day with shampoo's and conditioners that are moisture enriched...like pantine Pro-V or Aussie shampoo and 3 minute miracle. Or if you can afford it then go buy Red Ken All soft shampoo and conditioner. They may be a little expensive but they are worth it.

Then when you style your hair, make sure that your hair dryer isn't to hot. it could fry your hair. And when your styling, use a big round brush with bore bristles. They bring out the softness from your hair.

    Hope that helps.
Key to healthy shiny hair is really moisture buy a good moisturizer to keep your hair in good healthy condition. that will help with the shine also when washing your hair take a shower with cold water it closes your pores in your hair and reflects the suns rays giving your hair that shiny affect.
-rinse with cold water at the end of a shower to prevent to much frizz

-use shampoo just at your roots and use lots of conditioner at the ends of your hair

    -straightening gives it nice shine

-spray some shine spray throughout your hair during the day

    and thats all for now!!!!
i once read if you massage your hair with egg yolks then wash it out, itll get shiny. LOL my mom tries weird stuff like that

but if you massage it with oil before taking a shower then wash it out, itll get shiny and smooth. :)
There is this awesome stuff called glossing cream from bath and body works (and i think you can get it at target too) by Fekkai. It helps make hair soft and have a great shine without making hair oily.
Use Garnier Fruitise Sleek %26amp; Shine Shampoo %26amp; Conitioner. That's what I use.

My hair has been shedding really bad and now it's thin. What products can I use to get my healthy hair back?

I've heard that Dr. Miracles works good for some people and others say that It's not worth it. Has anyone tried it? If so, how did it work for you?My hair has been shedding really bad and now it's thin. What products can I use to get my healthy hair back?
nioxin...get it a sallys or ur local salonMy hair has been shedding really bad and now it's thin. What products can I use to get my healthy hair back?
may want to see a doctor, since there are medical problems that can cause excessive hair shedding. For me, it was an under-active thyroid which I now take meds for, and my hair is back to norm.
no I've never used Dr. Miracle but i do use pantene shampoo and conditioner (white bottle with brown letters) it grew my hair 4 extra inches after my hair chipped off when i stopped getting perms plus it made my hair alot thicker. dont panic you're probably jus using bad hair products. also try a medicated shampoo just in case.
You should go to the doctor. My aunt had thinning hair and it turned out that she had a thyroid condition. If all test come back good, then use these other porducts that were suggested.
Your diet may also be protein deficient, so you may want to increase your protein intake. I have a couple friends who've had this problem because they don't eat enough protein. You should probably also see a doctor because you could also have alopecia, an auto-immune disorder that causes body hair to thin and in some cases completely fall out.
First discuss with your doctor. It may be an indication of poor health that your not aware of or perhaps a poor diet, that you are probably aware of. It may be hereditary, any baldness in your family? Aunts, uncles, parents, grandparents. You may be anaemic. If it's diet or health related you may be able to be helped, if not, then it's a waste of money on potions %26amp; lotions. Shave it all off, that will mean a daily shave, of course, but you can buy an electric shaver for that purpose. Seems to be quite a fashion trend these days. Looks pretty good on the guys I've seen with it. Handsome, in fact, especially in a young man.
I have been using NIOXIN....鈾?also Tres semme for healty volume is supposed to work too..

make sure you check any meds you are taking because if the loss if from medication, the shampoos wont help...
Hair loss is an internal problem, not something you can treat from the outside. Go to a doctor to find out what is going on with your health.

be warned, all those products work by stimulating blood circulation which causes high blood pressure. if you have heart problems or high blood pressure in your family then you need to stay away from them.

go to your doctor for a blood test. they may find an answer like that.

if they have no answer then try acupuncture and chinese herbal medicine - it worked for me

you can also try sitting with your head between your knees for ten mins a day to stimulate the circulation in your head. massaging the head works too but you risk breaking the hair. sounds funny but it works
forget the products and see your doctor for blood tests an exam.
Ok.First ask your mom to buy hair oil. Then put it in your.after 2 or 3 hours go take a shower. The shedding will hopefully stop.Trust me!!!
First go to the doctor and get a check up. Make sure it's nothing regarding your health.

Multivitamins help and there is also Hair vitamins that help. Drink milk. It's good for your hair and nails.

Most importantly, say a prayer every night that your hair comes back to normal. Every little thing helps. lol

Anyone know of a good black hair salon that focuses on healthy hair?

Lots of stylist focus on style not healthy hair. Does anyone know of one? IAnyone know of a good black hair salon that focuses on healthy hair?
Stylist do just that...they style. Many of them no nothing about making the hair TRULY healthy, and not many salons will teach you how to have healthy hair. If you think about it...why would they? They don't make a profit by teaching you how to maintain your hair on your own, if they did that....you wouldn't feel the need to go to a salon. The best thing to do is to do research and use HEALTHY natural products for Black hair. Generally, product lines that sell natural products have a hair consutant on board that can offer you advice if needed. Other than that, most of it is trial an error. I am a natural hair stylist, but have taken the time to research and study ways to keep black hair healthy.

You should use hot oil treatments that contain herbs and essential oils (for growth and less breakage) once every two weeks. Use a scalp conditioner of hair cream that contains no petroleum or mineral oil as these products clog pores and prevent hair growth. Protein treatments are also important to keep the hair strong. Moisturize as often as you can, and if you have natural hair....stay a way from shampoos with SLS/SLES. Use natural products as often as possible, and join a friendly black hair care forum that can help you in regard to hair.

Another tip that many people don't know can effect their hair is ...water. You should only rinse your hair with distilled water as hard water DRASTICALLY effects hair. It can make the hair brittle, damaged, dry, and hard...especially our hair type.

I use this product line and have had really good results as far as the health of my hair is concerned. http://mineralindulgence.com/

They are all natural an make proucts for black hair to insure health, they also have a hair care consutant if you have any questions (they helped me a lot).

I strongly recommend them, longhaircareforum is also a good place for tips on making black hair healthy. You have to pay to join the forum, but you can lurk around and look at the forum topics without joining.

There are some great tips about repairing damaged hair. You'll find a bunch of recipes for conditioners and moisturizing treatments too.

Have a great day! :)How can I get healthy hair?
Pantene is the worst thing you can put on your hair - so stop using it. The number one ingredient is wax, which feels good on your hair at first, until it builds layer upon layer of wax - which is bad.

If you want to spend the money, try biolage, or redken brands. They each make different lines for different hair types, even for repairing damaged hair.

If you do not want to spend the money, tresseme makes a shampoo and conditioner that is specifically for people who use heated styling products called Thermal Recovery. It is what I use when I'm low on cash and it works very well, and smells great too (bonus)

Finally, spend the extra $13 and get Redken Heat Glide. Put it on wet hair before you blowdry. It does not leave your hair feeling gready or oily, it simply protects it from the heat. Wonderful product!

    Good luck!
Suave has the same ingredients in it as carpet cleaner... stay away from Suave. I recommend Aussie 3 minute Miracle. Its a deep conditioner that works in three minutes.
color your hair, using a gloss. (hair dye)

then everynight use a nice, deep conditioning/rehydrating shampoo%26amp;conditoner.

when you color your hair with the toni%26amp;guy it immediately adds gloss making your hair look vibrant and healthy.
if you do not want to spend the money for professional products (like me :) ) use suave professionals..it is professional quality and often much cheaper than regular shampoos...most regular shampoos contaion alcohol which strips you hair and makes it worse
try nexus shampoo andconditioner its a little expensive but its worth it. and when you straigten you hair apply a heat protective hair gel

How can I grow healthy hair?

Hi, I am a black woman. I cut my hair when I was about 15 and I am now 21. My hair is just above my shoulders and it has been the same length for a long time. What can I do to help it grow? What products do you use?How can I grow healthy hair?
If this comes out sounding racist I SO don't mean it! It's really hard for black women to grow out their hair, I have a ton of black friends and have seen them get so frustrated about it. The best thing you can do is eat A LOT of greens. Mainly Spinach, become Popeye, I'm not kidding. Green leafy veggies have been proven to make your hair healthier and shinier since it works as an anti-oxidant. I would suggest a weave, but since your hair is already to just about your shoulders, it's up to you. Try putting it into a really tight ponytail when you're at home and see if that will help. Also taking vitamins can help, something with Keratine. A really good one is Hair, Skin and Nails by Nutrilite. Hope I helped :)

How do i maintain healthy hair now that i have Honey Blonde highlights? ?

Im blk and have relaxed hair passed my shoulders. I recently decided to put honey blonde highlights in. How often should i condition my hair? What type of conditioner would you recommend? I would like to use something that would not strip the color...but with so many products on the market i dont know where to start. Now that im out of the military i can spend more time taking care of it. Thank youHow do i maintain healthy hair now that i have Honey Blonde highlights? ?
OK, you need to deep condition your hair weekly, with something such as cholesterol or hair mayo. Next you need to make sure that your hair stays moisturized , since the blonde makes the hair weaker. I would go to Sally's and look for a deep conditioner that is safe for color treated hair . And make sure your wrap your hair every night with a satin scarf and try to reduce or eliminate direct heat ( curling irons etc.) on your hair. Instead, try roller sets and wrapping.

Beat two eggs and add two tablespoons of water to it. Wet the hair and apply the egg mixture over the hair. Now massage your scalp and let the mixture on for ten minutes to fifteen minutes. Then rinse the hair with lukewarm water. This will keep both dandruff and hair fall problem away from you. Vitamins are essential for various body functions and also to maintain hair texture and growth. There are two types of vitamins 鈥?fat-soluble and water-soluble. The fat-soluble group contains A, D, E and K. Their intake must be precisely monitored, as a required amount will provide positive results but an excess quantity can undo the same and also cause various other problems. These are generally found in green leafy vegetables, pumpkins, butter etc. Vitamin D is unique for the fact that it can be synthesized by the body on exposure to sunlight.

How do i grow super long healthy hair?

okay so i want to get my hair down to the small of my back( im willing to take the several years it will take) but ive be growing it for about 9 months its down to my shoulder blades but before i grew it i dyed it several times and it has responded very badly now despite the fact that i take unbelievably good care of my hair including the occasional trim and regular treatments it is still falling apart. Any advice and will i need to get regular trims till all the dyed hair is gone and the start to add to my length? How do i grow super long healthy hair?
Okay first off, NO MORE HAIR DYE FOR YOU. As much as we would like to dye our hair and change the color when ever we want......we just can't. Our hair can only take so much! Your hair may be damaged because of it. There could be several factors that would make your hair fall out/break off. Using to much heat can cause damage, not enough moisture (especially with color treated hair), too much protein (causes the hair to be stiff and hard), or too much moisture ( which I don't think is the case).

The hair that isn't color treated is healthier because he can retain a lot of moisture as apposed to the color treated hair, which basically means you will probably be better off trimming off the color treated hair. How do i grow super long healthy hair?
try not to dye it a color far from your natural hair color or to often. try not to use heat. when your brushing don't tear through it. you can sit around with olive oil for a half hour before you shower. also try a product called kpak by joico, it is the only deep conditioner i actually noticed make a real difference. if you can wear it down its good and if you wear up dont make it too tight.
well you need a good shampoo and a good conditioner and it should get longer and healthy if you go get your trimmed every month ask your hair dresser to get your hair trimmed not cut and to get the shampoo at the hairdresser that is good for your hair to get healthy don't use any gels or hair products besides shampoo and conditioner.

    hope that helps!
get it trimed every 3-4 months

it will grow faster and healthier

How can I get Jennifer Aniston healthy hair?

Is there certain products you guys recommend? How can I get Jennifer Aniston healthy hair?
One way would be to hunt that no talented tabloid covering whore down and scalp her. That's authentic baby! How can I get Jennifer Aniston healthy hair?
    wash ur hair
lol you will need a live-in hair stylist and a few million dollars will help
don't straighten, blow dry. don't use too many hair products and stay natural. don't be bought by ads for shampoo eg pantene which fights damage from up to 2 years. they won't do to your hair what it looks like in the ad. those are airbrushed models with natural extensions. also, jen aniston is rich-she's got personal trainers, make up artists, and someone to do her hair for her.
Stalk her. Learn her routine. Then - run up on her with a pair of scissors, cut that s**t off and run.
you may have to climb up a ladder in the middle of the night slide open her bedroom window and drop into her bedroom and very carefully quietly snip it off while shes sleeping, because i cant see her giving it away!
you know, eat your vegetables!!!! and i have a question!!! how can i get Jennifer Aniston healthy boobs??????? seriously!!!
No hair is healthy. All hair is dead. The root below the scalp lives, but all bove the scalp-everything you can: see, touch, cut, curl, wash, etc-is dead. Shiny is shiny; not healthy. Colorful is colorful; not healthy. Straight is straight; not healthy. Define what you want your hair to look like-in real world terms, rather than Madison Avenue slogans-and then go from there.

What can I do to obtain my thick and healthy hair back?

Should I attend to a hair specialist? What can I do to obtain my thick and healthy hair back?
check what's going into your shampoo, many of the chemicals put in, especially ones which make the product lather, can even contribute to hair loss and thinning. (sodium laureth and lauryl sulphate, also some others) . you could try making your own shampoo, It should contain nettle and rosemary, and lots of it. Nettles make your hair grow thick and shiny and rosemary stimulates your hair folicles.

I hope this has helped =DWhat can I do to obtain my thick and healthy hair back?
Damaged hair needs to be cut as short as you can stand...a bob even and allowed to re-grow in a natural, healthy way. Weaves put stress on hair, and especially damaged hair can break, and it also puts strain on hair follicles, inhibiting healthy growth of new hair. Try clip-on hair extensions. and a smoothing serum on the damaged hair to make it shiny and blend with the extensions. Also rinse with cold water after a shower, and get shampoo/conditioner for dry/damaged hair. It will smooth down the hair cuticle. Shampoo every-other day, and only at the scalp. Tiny bit of serum (les than a dime size) rubbed all over your hands then smoothed and ran through hair...though not at roots- looks greasy- after hair is styled will shine you up! All of this should be good for giving your hair the illusion of being healthy, while the real healthy hair grows out.
trim ur ends dont use black little rubber bands it bracks ur hair the hair styler said

Does damaged bleached hair sink in water? And does healthy hair that has never been bleached, float in water?

Does damaged bleached hair sink in water? And does healthy, normal hair that has never been bleached, float in water?Does damaged bleached hair sink in water? And does healthy hair that has never been bleached, float in water?
If hair floats in water, it is healthy. If the hair sinks, that is because it is overly porous (damaged), and could use some treatment. The porosity (in other words, holes in the hair you can not see) causes the hair to absorb the water, which is why it sinks. Hair does not necessarily have to be bleached to be damaged, regular haircolor or overuse of heat styling methods can cause the hair to lose optimum porosity as well.Does damaged bleached hair sink in water? And does healthy hair that has never been bleached, float in water?
Errr....never bleached, but dyed and it floats. Why wouldn't bleached hair float?
never heard of this, maybe i should go and experiment that!

Best method for growing long healthy hair?

I am trying to grow out my hair really long. Its already mid-back, but I was hoping to get it another six inches, to about the small of my back The stands are fine, but it grows in thick. I think I take good care of it, I give it a deep conditioning every other week, and I don't use a lot of styling products. I blow it dry very infrequently. How often should I get it trimmed? I'd like to have long nice looking hair, not hair where the last 6in is frizzy and split-ended. Thanks for the help.Best method for growing long healthy hair?

trim it every 3 months, because hair grows 1/2 inch every month.
Grow it then keep trimming to keep it healthy

try a de frizzing serum ( you can just use a 2 dollar one its fne ) and put a little in mostly at the ends while its damp

Whats the best shampoo for healthy hair?

i just wanted to get an idea of the most popular ones.Whats the best shampoo for healthy hair?
Any sulfate-free shampoos are great. They will say if they are sulfate-free right on the front of the bottle. I love, love, love, Bed Head products. They not only work well, but they smell soooo good.

Any Sauve shampoos are horrible, there is a reason why they are so cheap. They are filled with detergents and causes a lot of stripping and build-up on the scalp, so stay away from all that.

It is also a good idea to have a few different kinds of shampoos and conditioners, because your hair will get used to one shampoo and conditioner and will begin to look limp and lifeless. By switching up shampoos every few washes, your scalp will constantly be 'surprised' by the shampoo and you will get better results.Whats the best shampoo for healthy hair?
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm鈥?/a>

Does this sound like a healthy hair routine?

I condition my hair about every day, and shampoo it about every 2-3 days. I let it air dry, and I don't put it in tight pony tails. I comb it when it's wet, but my hair is strong, and I have no split ends, and just a few broken strands, but that's from moving around a lot in my sleep. I straighten my hair only sometimes, and I use heat protection spray. I'm letting my hair grow another 4-5 inches, and then I'll keep letting it grow.Does this sound like a healthy hair routine?
Mostly. However, don't comb your hair when it's wet, and when you use heat on it, make sure the heat is on the lowest setting.

my hair grows great in the front but when it comes to the back areas thats where i have the most trouble.Im a african american woman who wants long healthy hair what products should i use?
My blog has alot about growing hair fast and keeping it strong, it might help - http://thelonghairdiaries.blogspot.com/ :)Im a african american woman who wants long healthy hair what products should i use?
You should refrain from using products that contain mineral oil and petrolatum as they do not help African American hair grow. Unfortunately, most hair care products made for Black women have harmful chemicals, unhealthy fillers, and preservatives that make Black hair greasy instead of actually making it healthy. To promote hair growth, you should begin using 100% organic (natural) hair care products designed for Black women. I use Mineral Indulgence hair care products, which contain essential oils, natural butters, and herbs that have been proven to promote hair growth. All of their products promote hair growth and condition hair from the inside out, plus these products are made BY Black women...so they know what kinda ingredients we need for our hair..lol. I strongly recommend these products. I am a cosmetologist and use the Kiwi Coconut Hair Smoothie as well as the Wrap Style and Sheen Spray on all of my customers hair..and they LOVE it. You should really give it a try.

  • Which one is better? Omega-3 fish oil OR vitamin E for healthy hair and skin?

I also take one a day, multivitamin. So which one is better in combination with multi vitamin?Which one is better? Omega-3 fish oil OR vitamin E for healthy hair and skin?
Vitamin E (clinically caled TOCOPHEROL) %26amp; Omega-3 have some difference in their action.

Vitamin E is primarily used as an antioxidant (anti aging) including maintainance of normal wear %26amp; tear processes, celluler stability, prevention of cardio vasculer risks %26amp; fertility etc.

Omega-3 (a Polyunsaturated fat) is equivalent to OLIVE OIL in its significance. It is mainly used for increasing blood flow to the periphery of the body (improvement in the microcirculation), %26amp; decreasing fat (cholesterol) absorption from the intestine (due to its competitive inhibitory function) so as to prevent cardiovasculer risks.

With a balanced diet BOTH CAN BE USED simeltaniously.

.............Praying for your health %26amp; satisfaction..................Which one is better? Omega-3 fish oil OR vitamin E for healthy hair and skin?
    take both

ditch the one-a-day... they are made in a lab, there is nothing natural about them

go to a vitamin shop and buy Green Vibrance

    I take Double X from Quixtar.com
    both but note to much
Both in combination. The vitamins are not as good as they claim because most are synthetic. Vitamins should come from whole food sources. If the ingredient does not specify a food source, the vitamin is synthetic and does not carry all the components needed to function. For example vitamin C from acerola cherry powder...good. Ascorbic acid....not so good.

Omega 3 fish oil and vitamin E in the natural form of d-tocopherol acetate are very good (avoid dl-tocopherol acetate...synthetic- watch for that 'L'). Be careful...some fish oils contain trace amounts of mercury...look for a good one. You can also use flax seed oil for your source of omega fatty acids.
I take a multivitamin every day, and a few weeks ago I started taking Omega-3 Fish Oil, and I've noticed that my fingernails are growing faster, and my hair seems to be stronger. I'm assuming it's from the fish oil.

Fresh Aloe Vera is great for promoting hair growth and healthy, shiny, lustrous, hair.

If you have Aloe Vera growing in your garden at home, you can slice a piece in half, scrape the slimy substance from the inside. Use the substance to massage into your scalp and hair, paying special attention the ends. Place a plastic hat on and sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse and style as usual.

What are some of the best tips to achieve and keep healthy hair?

Note: hair isn't alive, so it can't be ';healthy';. the following advice is purely for the look of your hair.

1.Don't shampoo too often. At most, 2-3 times a week. It's not gross, we've been brainwashed that if we don't wash our hair everyday something's wrong. Instead, washing everyday strips your hair of its natural oil, leaving it prone to dryness, frizziness, and breaking off.

    2. Use hair oil! Don't use a conditioner. Many of them leave a silicone coating over your hair or wax, which gives a false shine, but leaves your hair with gummy, sticky buildup. I recommend Dabur Jasmine hair oil. Just apply to hair for an hour to overnight and wash out with moisturizing shampoo.

    3. Don't use heat! Resist the temptation to quickly blow dry your hair. Stay away from those straighteners and curlers. They dry out your hair and cause split ends. Some really hot tools like heated combs (for afro hair) can melt your hair! If you really have to use them, put on a protective serum first.

    4. No chemicals! Try not to dye, perm, or relax your hair. All of them, especially perms and relaxers, dry out your hair and the perms %26amp; relaxers upset the pH in your hair.

    5. Don't brush frequently. Use a comb instead, if your hair is thick or curly, a wide tooth comb. Combs detangle, brushes pull out hair that wasn't ready to come out yet.

    6. Cut off split ends! No matter how much you want to make your hair long, splits will split all the way up your hair eventually, a half a hair is a lot weaker than a whole hair. They will break!

_However, contrary to popular belief, trimming does NOT make hair grow faster. Hair grows from the roots, not the ends, so they don't affect the rate of growth. What are some of the best tips to achieve and keep healthy hair?
First find a really good Shampoo and conditioner, I use Pantene Pro-v for women of color, which makes my hair really soft. Also, put your hair in braids or wrap it up after you wash it to keep the moisture in while it dries. don't straighten your hair very much either....maybe once every two weeks at the most and use a creme that will protect your hair from the heat of straightening when you do..My hair is pretty long but I wear fake ponytails sometimes just to keep from frying my ends....Use a deep conditioner for your ends and trim them on a regular bases....I trim my hair like every three weeks...yes that is kind of a lot! but when you trim regularly your hair starts growing a lot faster. The key to beautiful hair is healthy ends!! What are some of the best tips to achieve and keep healthy hair?
buy a protein treatment in stores and use it when the bottle says to (mine says weekly) also use a deep conditioner once a week and dont use a flat iron everyday. Thats what i do and my hair is really healthy
u gotta use different products and see which one suits u best, i think u need to understand your hair type and so on.
Use the same products...dont change alot...dont use too much because it will damage it.

What are swome good ways to help with getting really really healthy hair?

i want to make my hair look super healthy how can i do that with stuff around the house i hear egg and beer works ya i know it's weird but i don't wanna do it if theres other things any advice? What are swome good ways to help with getting really really healthy hair?
First, you should buy new supplies ( shampoo conditioner and other) research shows that if you change supplies everyone month or so it will make your stronger and healthier.

Second, you need to make sure you have:

    1) shampoo

    2) conditioner

    3) leave in conditioner

    4) (if you straighten or curl your hair) heat protectent spray or shine spray

    5) humidity resistant serum.

Third, apply the products to your hair. I suggest the Bed Head Humidity Resistance line. (shampoo conditioner leave in and serum) all in one pack. you can by it from your hair dresser or other places that sell open to the public.

Also, if you straighter or curl your hair regularly you need to make sure that youre using some sort of heat resistance spray before you use your irons. If you dont then you will surely have your hair dried out and frizzy.

Hope this helps! :)What are swome good ways to help with getting really really healthy hair?
yes, egg and dark beer are good for your hair.

but another thing is coconut oil.

Coconut oil, will make your hair shiny, silky, and most importantly;healthy.

Indian women actually use this method for their long hair, and it works wonders.

If you have split ends its a good idea to get a trim, so that the dead ends are off and your hair will grow faster and healthier.

I have heard of vitimin supplements that can help acheive healthy hair, nails, and skin.

Also eating healthy food will make a difference in your hair.
Only shampoo your hair with store bought shampoo every three days. Any more than that and you're hair will produce more oils than normal and look greasy all the time. Before you wash your hair, soak it in vegetable or olive oil and put a shower cap over it. (If you don't have a shower cap, saran wrap works.) Avoid getting your hair wet, but take a hot steamy shower or bath for at least fifteen minutes, and then wash the oil out. Mayonnaise works as a substitute for the oil. Hope I helped!
DO NOT use beer it doesn't work it makes the hair go like straw.

The best thing to do is once you shampoo your hair rub in a big amount of condintioner into your hair and leave in for 2-3 minutes then wash. That should make you hair nice and soft.

Also when you blowdry your hair make sure you dont dry it fully leave it a little bit damp to dry naturally.

If you got any olive oil in your cupboard rub some in your hair, leave it in 5-10 minutes then wash.

    x
moisturize with honey and milk, they say beer works because of the yeast. don't use hot curlers, use blow dryer on low heat. air drying is best. keep ends trimmed so the split doesn't travel north. massage your scalp to stimulate circulation. don't go to bed with wet hair, it tangles. comb through conditioner after you wash it before rinsing. also take vitamins and biotin. biotin makes your nails grow too. use a wide bristled brush. put hair in a ponytail before you try to comb through the mane. it helps to get knots out without pulling out the hair root. i could go on and on....email me for more tips. my mom is a salon owner.
Well this is what i do

    1. when im in the shower i wet my hair for about 3-5 minutes

    2. when its wet i take my regular shampoo and put about a dime size or Little more and put it on top of my hair

    3. then i go under the water for 5 seconds and then go out of the water and scrub my hair for about 5-6 minutes

    4. then i rinse and do the same for my conditioner

    5. then i repeat the steps but this time i use head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner

Then when im styling it i put in de frizz cream and heat protector and after styling i put bed head after styling in my hair with Little hairspray and that's it

    good luck :]
ok im only answering this because everyone says my hair is dead thick and silky and healthy :D these are my secrets though they wont be secrets any longer :(

    ANYWAY

    1) Always use herbal shampoo and conditioners

    2) Once a week put coconut oil or olive oil..my mom makes a special oil for me but i dont know whats in it....

    4) I NEVER use a hairdryer unless im in a real hurry

..so try this...regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks.(if your hair is really healthy then up the trims to about every 12 weeks, a trim is just a snip off the ends) if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the growth part of the e to kick in. the other benefits are instant. dont brush your hair but maybe three or four times a week to message the scalp, dry hair, never wet, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. i just started biotin vitamins going on four months ago this sat and notice and big growth spurt from that. biotin is cheap and also promotes hair regrowth and growth. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online.(puritans pride.com or vitadigest.com) five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. i now take my fingers and message my scalp about five times a week, along with the brushing thats a good way to do it without damaging your hair. apply two or three capsules of e to dry hair and message into scalp and hair really well, put damp towel in microwave for 1 min to get hot, then quickly wrap head, a dry towel can be placed over that to help hold in the heat, leave on for 15 min, shampoo well, makes an excellent hot oil treatment. good luck, AND some people will argue about regular trims, your hair does grow from the roots, yes, but if your hair is not trimmed at the bottom, the it splits, get dry and brittle not to mention thin looking from no trims at all and frizzy. then your hair starts to break off at the bottom and giving you the appearance that it never grows. so to make hair grow as fast as possible and keep it healthy, then trims are an essential part of hair care. look on a ruler and check out less then half an inch and if your salon does not know what that is then take a ruler with you, i have. as of five weeks ago adding beta carotene vitamins to my regimen. i found out that along with the biotin it is very very good in promoting hair growth. they were five bucks for a bottle of 100. got them at walmart. the biotin and e can also be purchased at walmart, and adding all this up is pretty cheap to get great hair. i just wish the shampoo was available in the stores, but not yet.How to get really healthy hair?

baby shampoo is especially designed for sensitive hair. what you need is strong stuff, because oily hair is serious. try head and shoulders for oily hair. yes, it exists, i use it, cause i had the same problem. and the hair looks all strong and shiny. baby shampoo is just too ';light'; for your problem
    Hey ya!

My friend like to do this too, while using such shampoo hers hair become stronger but not so much.Good luck!
I use the same shampoo in the summer when I am washing hair almost every day. But I also think a baby shampoo is good for babies. The same goes for babies creams. Older skin needs proper cosmethics. But on the other hand some people in Africa never use cosmethic and look fine.
No, don't use it. When my husband was in hair school, they showed the students how you can actually give a perm using Johnson's baby shampoo as the perm solution! The reason is that its pH is way too high (very alkaline), and our skin and hair is naturally a bit acidic. They say it is 'no more tears' because there is actually a small amount of anesthetic in it, so if it gets in a baby's eyes, they just can't feel it. Also, in his years of doing hair, my husband noticed that people who used baby shampoo got SERIOUS build up of it in their hair. It doesn't rinse away clean enough, and will add to your hair's oily look/feel.

Everyone loses hair every day---100 or more hairs. This is part of the natural grow-dormant-fall cycle. If your hair is long-ish, you might notice it more simply b/c you see more hairs in the tub, in the sink, on your brush.

The best shampoo you can use isn't necessarily an expensive salon one, but even a decent drug-store brand.
it's better u use adult shampoo special for oily hair and also use some conditioner from the same brand as your shampoo, conditioner will make your hair smooth. Last time i use to use shampoo only but now since i use conditioner, it's better, and if u have time, do hair treatment once in awhile, u can go to salon or do it at home also, u can buy the product for hair treatment
    won't hurt
I started using Johnson's when I had problems with hair loss occuring due to medication I was taking. To be honest I was too scared to use most other brands of shampoo and whilst browsing along the hair products section of my local supermarket I spotted good old Johnson's baby shampoo.

The packaging, uninspired clear plastic bottle, is very easy to overlook on the shelves and it's only if you have very good eyesight (you have to read the descriptive label through the actual honey coloured shampoo)that you can read the information that it can be good for adults.

I have greasy hair and I have found that using this shampoo does eliminate this particular problem to a great extent. I can't say that it leaves my hair baby soft (thank goodness) but it does leave it feeling clean and manageable. Although I do not have any perm, bleach or colour products on my own hair I do feel it would probably be kind to hair suffering from these particular treatments although a separate conditioner might be needed as well.

The 'no tears' formula could well be worth bearing in mind for those who may find themselves having to wash the hair of the elderly or infirm and for those who have sensitive eyes.

The cost is comparable to most shampoos and I would recommend that it is well worth trying.
It depends..I've got wavy.frizzy hair but i did try using baby's shampoo but it made it more dry.I suggest u really learn about your hair type n get the proper products..
