I want to grow out healthy hair to give to locks of love?

So my hair is shoulder length right now, It's not long enough to donate yet, but I want tips to grow it out so its healthy, I have red hair, and I figured they probably don't get a lot of red hair.

SO,how do I donate hair? and what are tops to growing out healthy hair?I want to grow out healthy hair to give to locks of love?
to donate, you need to have it cut in a ponytail and then send it to them. lots of salons will do this for you, but ask first. if not, i'm sure they have a website that says where to ship it.

as for growing out healthy hair,

i suggest not dying it, not using heat (blowdrying, curling irons, etc) and letting it dry naturally, don't over-brush, make sure you get regular trims so the dead and splitting ends are cleaned up, only wash your hair with shampoo around 2-3 times a week, condition(!!!) it with a good conditioner or leave in treatment.I want to grow out healthy hair to give to locks of love?
shampoo and condition regularly... this should keep it healthy, along with vitamins that strengthen hair and make it healthier

there are salons that will cut your hair for free if your cutting it for locks of love... but if not there is a website you can visit that has instructions on what to do... AND and address to just send the hair to.

you need at least ten inches of hair to be donated... again, this is all said on the website. they also say that hair has to be in a ponytail or braid to be sent in, so dont forget that : )

the first time i donated my hair... they sent me a little personalized card and i thought it was really sweet ^_^ to get one of these cards, you have to fill out a form with your name, address, usual stuff like that.
massage your scalp with coconut or olive oil to stimulate healthy growth =]

you want to stay away from shampoos with SLS (sles) or ALS in them as they cause hair to thin :: there are lots of other harsh ingredients to watch out for::

aubrey organics: burt's bee's: kiss my face: jasons: and alba are great: safe brands to use =]
You should just let your hair grow naturally it shouldn't take long.

I think the hair you are donating has to be at least

like 13 inches or something.

I think that's really nice of you! ^_________^
